● Hemant POUDYAL Assistant Professor
Research Interests:
Endocrinology and Cardiovascular Physiology
Research Topic:
Role of gut hormones in type-2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease
Short Introduction
Hemant is interested in the dynamics of the heart. He strongly believes in a multi-disciplinary approach in tackling the medical challenges of our time. In the past, he has studied the effects of various nutritional interventions on the heart as well as on various other pathologies such as obesity and diabetes that may damage the heart. Currently, he is investigating how nutrients may influence the intestine. Further, he aims to elucidate the effects of intestine-derived hormones on the functioning of heart. By the end of his Hakubi Project he wants to prove that in response to the food we eat, our intestine directly influences the dynamics of the heart.
