The selection process is conducted by the ‘Hakuraku Council,’ a committee established within the Kyoto University Hakubi Center to select candidates for this project. The process consists of a first-stage document screening by the Expert Committee and a second-stage interview in Japanese or English by the Hakuraku Council. Candidates are selected based on a comprehensive evaluation of not only their research capabilities but also their potential as next-generation leaders.
