The End of Cellular Life Controlled by the End
Have you ever heard the term “Telomere”? If yes, what do you associate it with? The end? Shortening? Aging and cancer? …All correct. Then, do you know the mechanisms behind them? Telomere, the end of the chromosome DNA, is central in regulating cellular life and death. In this seminar, I, as a researcher who has been charmed by the chromosome biology, would like to share the real pleasure of telomeres, which protect chromosome ends. The contents will include some leading-edge results, but I will try to exclude technical terms as much as possible. In the seminar, we will invite Itaru Imayoshi (Hakubi 2nd batch, Neural development, Neuroscience) as a facilitator, so we are looking forward to having many participants including elder batches.
Before this seminar, Imayoshi-san will give a brief introduction about the speaker’s study field.
