How to develop functional molecules to regulate curious functions of RNAs?
Our body includes the entire structure of a human being and comprises various organs (kidney, liver, heart, etc.). Every part of the body is composed of various types of cells, however, almost all of these cells have same DNA sequence. How to create various kinds of cells from the same DNA sequence? One of the answers is "RNA". The term non-coding RNA is commonly employed for RNA that does not encode a protein. Recent evidence suggests that the majority of the genomes of mammals and other complex organisms are in fact transcribed into non-coding RNAs. I would like to talk about curious functions of RNAs and how to develop the functional molecules to regulate such functions of RNAs.
