Research Interests: Topology
Research Topic: Study on quantum invariants of links and 3-dimensional manifolds
Sakie is studying Knot theory, which is one of the research areas in Topology. Knot theory aims to understand the structure of knotted strings, and is developing quickly, being related to areas such as representation theory and mathematical physics. She works and struggles hard every day in such complex areas. On the other hand, she is happy to do mathematics, which makes her feel free. Mathematics could be considered to be a lonely science, but she never feels lonely because she can communicate with other people around the world simply using mathematics. Sakie considers the ability to directly and honestly pursue topics which she is fascinated by to be the most important aspect of her study. In her Hakubi project, she will apply her experience, knowledge and positive attitude to studying mathematics in a more fruitful and beneficial way.
