白眉の日（Hakubi Day）

The 13th Batch, Graduate School of Economics, Assistant Professor Vu Ha Thu

Hakubi Day is held every year to become a place for interaction among all Hakubi researchers, Hakubi staff, and their families. This year, Hakubi Day was held on August 5th at KKR Kyoto Kuniso. We were glad to welcome Prof. Takayama Yoshinobu- Hakubi director and three presenters: Dr.Kaide Yusuke (11th batch), Dr. Shigemori Masaki (4th batch), and Dr.Ando Yuichiro (7th batch). We also welcomed around 30 Hakubi members and their families attending the event.

An opening remark was made by Prof.Takayama Yoshinobu- the Hakubi director. Then, Dr.Kaide Yusuke presented his research, the title was “How to deal with global-scale problems: Introduction to international law research”. Dr. Kaide Yusuke was the 11th batch of Hakubi. Currently, he is working at the Hokkaido University. The second presenter was Dr.Masaki Shigemori. His presentation was about “Microstructure of black holes and string theory”. Dr. Masaki was the 4th batch of Hakubi. Currently, he has been working at the Nagoya University. The last presentation was given by Dr.Ando Yuichiro. The title was “Room temperature operation of semiconductor-based spin devices for beyond CMOS technology.” Dr. Ando was the 7th batch of Hakubi, he has been working at the Kyoto University.

After the presentation session, we played “catch the word” and “bingo” games. Finally, all Hakubi members and their families enjoyed a BBQ at the rooftop of KKR Kyoto Kuniso. Hakubi Day 2023 was a memorable day for all of us. We enjoyed three presentations, games, and dinner. We wish all the best to Hakubi members and their families.
