Summary
There is a critical shortage of donors for islet transplantation, which is essential for the cure of type 1 diabetes. Furthermore, current regenerative medicine research has not yet succeeded in constructing entire organs. In this presentation, I will introduce the concept and research progress of my Hakubi project, “Reconstruction of a human iPSC-derived pancreas using interspecies chimeric animals.” I will also present my previous research and experiences that have led me to this work.
