Summary
Paris agreement came into effect on 4th November, 2016. Thanks to the quick ratification by USA and China, it was less than a year since COP21 adopted the agreement in December 2015. This is the first binding international agreement for all developed and developing countries with clear temperature targets, so many researchers recognized that this agreement will become a big step for the world to deal with the climate change issue. However, in order to meet the target, there are many difficult issues to overcome. It is obvious that every country and every stakeholder has to involve in and to take responsibility for achievement, but also the importance of low-carbon innovations is emphasized more than ever. Since innovations are key for dealing with climate change issue, in this seminar, I will focus on environmental policy, a possible factor which may induce innovations, and examine how it may influence corporate innovations.
