Summary

Archaeology is the digging science. Some experiences essential for archaeologist can be gotten only from the excavation, and some academic topic cannot be solved without the excavation. The controversy over the evaluation of palaeolith-like samples collected in Shimane prefecture, western Japan has such kind of the topic. Many archaeologists visited Torigsaki site which is the main target in the controversy to collect the real palaeolith made by archaic hominins as the proof of their habitation. Archaeologist had consumed half century to discuss the evaluation and long-awaited the excavation of Torigasaki site to solve it. In this seminar, I will show you the brief report of the excavation in Torigasaki site to find the traces regarding the archaic hominin.
