Summary
Oxygen is essential for our life, but excess oxygen is rather toxic. Hypoxic microenvironments in our body also play important roles in maintaining our life, but those in tumor tissues, on the other hand, have been suggested to induce malignant phenotypes of cancer cells. In the seminar, I would like to introduce the latest knowledge about favorable and unfavorable aspects of normoxic and hypoxic conditions in our body.
