  • Research Topic
Research on the Central Region of the Milky Way Galaxy by Combination of X-ray and Gamma-ray Observations

Masayoshi was born and raised in Osaka. He has always been very interested in the universe. He pursued physics as an undergraduate student at Kyoto University, and started researching astrophysics in graduate school. Looking up at the night sky, one can observe winking stars in the jet-black universe. Several types of light, not only visible light but also radio waves, X-rays, and so on, come down from the universe. In particular, the high-energy light of Xand gamma-rays clearly shows the turbulent phenomena such as black-holes, and the birth and death of stars, that occur frequently in the universe. In his Hakubi research, he will open up new aspects of the Universe using a next-generation X-ray scientifi c satellite, ASTRO-H, which will be launched in early 2014.
