Research TopicRe-examining Mongolian Legal History: A Study on the Basis of Original Legal Texts
Erdenchuluu aspired to become an international lawyer during his undergraduate studies at the Law College of Inner Mongolia University. However, in Japan he first specialized in environmental science and anthropology, before entering the Graduate School of Law, Kyoto University, where he obtained his LLM and LLD. Currently, he is conducting a new study of Mongolian legal history that examines and analyzes Mongolian original legal texts produced between the 17th and the early 20th century. These legal texts are presently preserved in the archives in Mongolia, Russia, and China. Additionally, he is also studying the legal history of ethnic groups and countries of Inner and East Asia which have intimate connections with Mongolia. Since the study of legal history is a multidisciplinary study field, he now enjoys the advantage of having specialized knowledge in different areas.
