Research TopicThe Nature of Mind according to the Philosophical View of Dzogchen
Born in France, Marc-Henri received his PhD from the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes, Paris. In the course of his studies, he also had the chance to join the Buddhist Studies department of Kyoto University since 2008. His doctoral research focused on the Tibetan author Prajn?ra?mi (1518-1584) and revealed for the first time his major role in the history and philosophy of the Nyingma School of Tibetan Buddhism, and in the so-called “non-sectarian” movement. In 2009, he co-organized the Second International Seminar of Young Tibetologists in Paris, and then co-edited the proceedings’ volume, Revisiting Tibetan Philosophy and Religion (2011). His Hakubi research project aims at elucidating the view of Dzogchen, the “Great Perfection” (the highest system of the Nyingma School and Bon), by analyzing its unique philosophy of mind, its different sources, and its specific function for synthetic approaches towards Buddhist systems.
