    Thermal emission control by manipulating electronic and photonic states

I am from the island of Sri Lanka which is nearly the same size as Hokkaido. I have been interested in electronic science since my childhood, when I developed a great admiration for Japanese high technology. Fortunately I was able to come to Japan in 2002 to study electronic science. Though I have been in Japan for 12 years, I am still learning about electronic science and also about Japanese culture. In my recent research, I am developing next generation optoelectronic devices based on controlling both electronic and photonic states. For example, I was able to develop a new type of narrow-band and directional thermal emission source as shown in the figure above.
